The
298th is a group of friends loosely based in southeast
Michigan, though a few of us are scattered about
the nation. Our mission is to have a lot of fun
playing the great game of Battlefield 1942!
Because
of the nature of our "clan", we are not
actively recruiting new "members" per
se. However, we feel we can best accomplish our
"mission" by associating with like-minded
individuals across the country and around the world.
And
so, we are offering a dedicated server to the BF1942
community! If you'd like to join some serious gamers
on a fast, fun server, we invite you try the 298th.
Additionally,
feel free to join us in our BF1942
forums. Maybe you'll learn something!
;-)
We
ban. A lot.
Don't
be an asshat. You'll be banned.
Don't
be a smacktard. You'll be kicked. Or banned. Probably
banned.
What
are asshats and smacktards? Asshats try to ruin
everyone else's game by team killing, destroying
team vehicles for no reason, and just generally
being a pain in the arse for their own foolish amusement.
Smacktards are those poor lost souls who are just
plain stooopid. "Plane camping", hopping
into a pre-positioned artillery piece and driving
off while a teammate is trying to use it, taking
off with a tank only to abandon it at the airfield,
etc... i.e. just generally being an idiot.
If
you have a high ping, we'll probably kick you. Nothing
personal.
If
you don't switch sides if we ask you to, we'll kick
you.
If
we need to make room on the server for a 298th member,
you may be kicked depending on your score and or
ping. Usually there're enough asshats so that a
serious player won't lose his or her spot. If you
are kicked for this reason, no hard feelings, alright?
If
you exploit any bugs, we'll ban you. No questions
asked.
Other
than that, if you want to play on a fun, fast server,
you're welcome at the 298th!
Please
review our Guidelines
for Play on the 298th for server
"etiquette".
If
you feel you've been wrongly banned or kicked, please
let us know in the forum... If you did make a mistake
and were banned for it, groveling and begging for
forgiveness can go a long way towards reinstatement.
